Good morning parents/guardians,

Happy Thanksgiving!  On behalf of the MSS staff, I would like to pass along our best wishes this long weekend.  Please remember that the school is closed on Monday, October 9.  Regular classes for all MSS students resume on Tuesday, October 10.

As the year progresses, we continue to support students with their behaviours.  In Marshall Time on Friday, we reviewed the following points as the majority of student issues begin with one or more from the list below:

• “I was just joking…” or “I thought that would be funny…” or “It’s ok because that is my friend…” is not an excuse for inappropriate words and actions.
• Screaming in the halls/learning spaces at any point in the day is unacceptable student behaviour.
• Intentionally disrupting teaching and learning is not appropriate.
• Keep your hands and feet to yourselves.  You do not need to touch other people.
• Don’t touch/take things that do not belong to you.

We will continue to reinforce these expectations with students.  Your support is appreciated.

  • Gr. 7 Field Trip to Ralph Klein Park.
  • Boys Soccer Game at RT Alderman at 430pm.
• Wednesday, October 11:
  • Gr. 7 Field Trip to Ralph Klein Park.
  • Gr. 6 Immunizations – Signed forms need to be returned to MSS.
  • Girls Soccer Game at 430pm, Location TBD.
• Thursday, October 12:
  • Gr. 7 Field Trip to Ralph Klein Park.
  • Boys Soccer Game at MSS @ 430pm.
  • Sr. Girls Basketball Game @ McKenzie Highlands.
• Friday, October 20:
  • Non-Instructional Day: NO School for Students.

MSS School Apparel / Swag Store

Our online school apparel store closes on Sunday, October 8.  Orders will be shipped directly to the school and will be delivered to students approx. 3-4 weeks after the store closes on October 8^th. The online store will open again in February and May 2024. MSS Online Clothing Store: CLICK HERE

MSS Picture Day

Picture Day for all students and staff will be Tuesday, October 10.  If students are absent on this day, retakes will take place in November.

Gr. 6 Immunizations

Public health nurses will be at MSS on Wednesday, October 11 for Gr. 6 immunizations.  Only students with signed and returned parental/guardian consent forms will be participating.

Athletics Update

The cross-country running season has ended.  Congratulations to all student-athletes on your efforts and achievements.  Special mention to Henry S. in Grade 7 as he won his age group at the final meet of the year!
