First Day of Classes
Tuesday, September 2, 2025 is the first day of school for all MSS classes. Doors to the school will open at 9:00am and students will proceed to the following areas to start the day at 9:15am. Regular office hours resume (Monday – Thursday 8:45am – 4:00pm, Friday 9:00am – 1:00pm).
Gr. 6 students:
o Will enter through the athletics doors on the East side of the building near the staff parking lot and proceed to the main gym. (Map attached).
o Staff will be inside and outside to support students and families.
o Parents/guardians will be able to enter the East athletic doors and accompany their child(ren) into the main gym. A quick welcome and introduction will be held by school administration, then parents/guardians will say goodbye and exit the main gym and building.
o School administration will welcome students and introduce teachers before students head up to their homeroom class.
Gr. 7/8/9 students:
o Will enter through any entrance OTHER than the East Athletic doors. (Map attached).
o Staff will be inside and outside to support students.
o Homeroom lists will be posted in the main foyer and throughout the building. Students who are not able to find their name on a homeroom list are asked to come to the main office.
o Students are to be in their designated homeroom class by 9:15am.
· Bell Schedule: 9:15am – 3:55pm
· There will be NO cafeteria service on this day. The cafeteria will open Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Friday, September 5, 2025 is a regular Friday for all MSS students. Friday’s at MSS are early dismissal (9:15am – 12:45pm). There will be NO cafeteria services on Fridays throughout the school year.

Lunch Supervision
Teachers are on lunch supervision each day in main foyer and lower floor halls. Gr. 6 students - supervised in main foyer for half of the lunch period. No off-campus privileges. Gr. 7/8/9 students - can leave campus if they choose.
Lockers
Each student will receive a lock and a locker on the first day of school. You do no need to send a lock with your child.
Merchandise
MSS School Clothing/Swag Online Store. Dates for the opening on the MSS online store will be posted in September 2025.

Fees & Waivers
Fees will be charged to your MyCBE account beginning in October.
Course Changes
Homeroom change requests are not being accepted due to large class sizes and expected new enrollments. Semester #1 option change request information will be emailed to parents/guardians in early September 2025.

Parking
Parents/Guardians are not to park in the school bus zone directly in front of the school on Everridge Dr and the NEW school bus zone on Everoak Dr on the West side of the school. These areas are clearly marked as "Bus Zones".

School Supplies
Locks for student lockers will be provided and assigned to students by their homeroom teachers on the first day of classes. There is a fee to replace locks ($10) that go missing. For safety and security reasons, students are not able to bring their own locks from home.
Grade 6 School Supply List - Please ensure that all items are labelled.
The following is a general list of supplies that will be required by grade 6 students at Marshall Springs School. All other supplies will be provided by your child’s homeroom teacher*. Although the school supplies notebooks, pencils, etc.; students are expected to take responsibility for their materials.

- 1 pair of indoor PE shoes (must be athletic shoes with non-marking soles)
- Athletic change of clothing for participation in Physical Education. Students have the option of purchasing Marshall Springs School tee / shorts from the MSS Clothing Store.
- Chromebook (Recommended, not required)

*Supplies are based on a shared supply model – however, if you would like your child to have their own supplies, please send the following: glue stick, scissors, pencil sharpener, pencil crayons, highlighter, ultra-fine sharpies, dry erase markers, ruler and a basic calculator.

The following is a general list of supplies that will be required by all Grade 7, 8 & 9 students at Marshall Springs School. Students are responsible for replacing these items as they are depleted throughout the year.

Clubs & Activities
Athletics at MSS
MSS runs all seven (7) CMLSAA middle/junior high athletics activities (cross-country running, soccer, basketball, wrestling, volleyball, badminton, track & field). Students in Gr. 6-9 are able to try-out and participate. No-Cut Teams: cross-country running, wrestling, track & field. Cut Teams: soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton.
Extracurricular/Clubs Activities at MSS
Clubs and activities vary from year-to-year based on student interest and engagement.
Lunch Time & Cafeteria
Lunch time is 1:32 - 2:07pm Monday to Thursday. MSS has a full service cafeteria Monday - Thursday starting September 3, 2025. There is no cafeteria service on Fridays. Gr. 6 students eat inside in the main foyer (first half) and then have the option to go outside or stay inside in designated areas only. Gr. 6 students DO NOT have the option to leave school property at lunch unless parents/guardians consent to them going home for lunch. Gr. 7/8/9 students can leave school property if they choose. If they stay at school, Gr. 7/8/9 students have the choice to go outside or stay inside in designated areas only. The second floor of the school is closed during lunch time.
School Photos and Yearbooks
School Photos - Monday, October 6, 2025. Picture retake day is Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Yearbooks are available for purchase in April/May 2026.
Learning Technologies & Student WIFI
MSS has access to Chromebooks, iPads, and MacBooks for student use. Student WIFI is available for personal devices.
Off-Site Activities
Keep updated on field-trips and other exciting off-site activities throughout the year. We're excited to expand on learning opportunities by stepping outside of the classroom.
