A big thank you to the students/teachers/parents/guardians who attended last week’s soccer games. There was plenty of energy and positivity from our fans as they cheered on our student athletes.

Fine Arts Curriculum Update
Students have done a wonderful job this week and have nearly completed their Folk Art inspired sculptures/masks. Students learned about Folk Artists, Maude Lewis, as well as the papier-mache artisans that create work for the celebration of Dia De Los Muetos.
As part of our work participating in Truth and Reconciliation this week, each class learned about the world renound printmakers from Cape Dorset, Nunavut. After seeing work to draw inspiration, students all listened to the Napi story of Okotok Rock as told by Elder Saa'kototo. To pay homage to Treaty 7 land and to show our gratitude for living here in Mohkintsis, students chose an animal commonly found nearby and created a bas-relief print block using a foam base depicting that animal.
All our Marshall Springs artists have much to be proud of this week and have really created some beautiful pieces and have learned new techniques and historical context along the way. Well done!
