During the week of June 17-20, all Phys. Ed classes will be participating in a walk to Fish Creek Park. Students will be informed of their walk day and time during Springs time. Only 2 or 3 classes will be going at a time with the appropriate amount of supervisors. Students will walk to Fish Creek Park where we will play a few outdoor games, have a snack, enjoy the outdoors and then return by walking back to the school.
If you could please have your child be prepared with the following;
- Good walking shoes
- Dressed appropriately for the weather such as rain coat, layer clothing if necessary
- Sunscreen/bug spray
- Hat
- Water bottle
- Small snack (optional)
As you know, parents/guardians no longer need to fill out a consent form for their child to go on a class trip within walking distance from the school, for example, to a local park.
Here is the schedule of when each homeroom class will be going. Please inform the office or your child's teacher if your child cannot attend this field trip.

As with any field trip, we want to inform you about some common hazards involved with walking trips to the above locations. Please note that this list may not include all of the hazards for a given trip:
- Slips, trips and falls
- Getting separated from the group
- Street crossings
- Pre-existing medical conditions and/or allergies
- Students will be instructed to remain a safe distance from water, however, if they make choices to disregard these instructions, they may fall into bodies of water, for example, storm ponds.
- Exposure to infectious diseases (eg. COVID-19, SARS, MERS, influenza).
If you have questions about field trips within walking distance of the school, contact your student's teacher.
Thanks.
