We are happy to announce that healthy hunger Fridays (and one of Thursday) has returned for the 26-27 school year. Healthy hunger choices and ordering information have been uploaded to the school calendar on our website. This is a great way to provide a snack for your child on Fridays and also support the school as a portion of proceeds directly comes back to us.

MSS Terry Fox Run & Fundraising | #TerryFoxSchoolRun
This year, our school is proudly taking part in the annual Terry Fox School Run to continue Terry's dream of a world without cancer. Despite the challenges that Terry faced, he never quit in his effort to help others suffering from cancer, no matter what. For this year's Terry Fox School Run, we are going to try our very best, no matter what, just like Terry did. Please support our school's fundraising efforts today! Marshall Springs' support of this event will include:
- A whole school Terry Fox run on Monday, September 28th.
- Homeroom fundraising “Toonie for Terry.”
- A homeroom challenge Terry Fox Run in Physical Education on Sept. 11th.
- A “Tickets for Terry” fundraiser at lunch on September 23rd and 24th. Students can bring Toonies or non-perishable food donations to the Tickets for Terry table at lunch.
In the spirit of encouraging our ability to raise funds to support the Terry Fox Foundation, homerooms will compete against each other in combining their PE run homeroom km totals and total HR funds raised.
Donations will be collected on Monday, September 28th before the run. Alternatively, the safest and easiest way to fundraise is to donate online to individual homerooms through our school page, located here: https://schools.terryfox.ca/137774. Donations made online of over $20.00 receive a donation tax receipt. Links to each homeroom's individual fundraising page are posted in the student's HPE or PE&W Google Classroom.
If your student would like a shirt, they may be purchased through the Terry Fox online store https://shop.terryfox.org/ and the Calgary Terry Fox Run at Fort Calgary - details at run.terryfox.ca/92903
ACTION Required | Complete Online forms by September 14, 2026
Each year, schools have a variety of forms that parents / legal guardians / independent students are required to complete or review and update, some of which are paper and others online. If you have already completed your annual forms, you can disregard this message.
In CBE, the forms in an online format (SchoolEngage) are:
• Demographic Verification - 2026-27 – This required form is an Alberta Education and Childcare requirement as proof of Registration for funding purposes and includes your child’s personal information as well as parent / legal guardian contact information.
• Citizenship Information Update - 2026-27 – This form becomes available and is required to complete if you change your child’s citizenship information on the Demographic Verification form.
• Annual Authorization - 2026-27 – Combines the following forms:
- School District Use of Personal Information - explains how CBE uses personal information in providing education services.
- Consent for CBE Use of Student Information – provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by school/district and third parties.
- Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups (Third Party) - provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by outside groups and third parties
- Consent for Student Participation in Annual CBE Surveys – these surveys support school and system planning and help improve programs and supports offered to students
- Parental Opt-In for Notifiable curriculum for students in grades 3 to 9 – written consent of parents prior to providing instructions or materials that deal primarily and explicitly with human sexuality, gender identity or sexual orientation. Students are unable to participate in this portion of the curriculum unless consent is granted.
SchoolEngage is one of the applications found in your MyCBE account. This is the same account used to pay fees, view academic information, book school conferences, register to volunteer etc. If you do not have a MyCBE account, click Create a MyCBE Account on the MyCBE page. For online help, refer to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video).
To complete these forms:
1. Sign in to your MyCBE account.
2. Click on the SchoolEngage icon.
3. Select the form.
4. Complete or review and update the form.
5. Click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 for each form.
Please submit the Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms in SchoolEngage for your child by Monday, Sep. 14. These forms are mandatory every year for Alberta Education and Childcare to confirm student funding. If you have any questions, please contact us at 403-817-3528.
