Good afternoon MSS families,
At this time, the CBE is preparing for an Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) strike beginning on Monday, October 6, 2025. Here is what this means for MSS families:
- All classes will be cancelled. Do not send your child to school.
- Transportation will be cancelled. Do not leave your child at a bus stop.
- The school will be closed and not accessible to students/families.
- Support staff (non ATA) will be onsite. If you have any questions, you can call the school at 403-817-3528 or email marshallsprings@cbe.ab.ca
- All onsite/offsite/athletic events/extra-curricular activities have been cancelled.
Decisions regarding the rescheduling of events and the resumption of athletic activities will be made once school resumes.
Families may have paid fees for field trips or other school-based activities that may be cancelled. Any fees paid for services not delivered will be adjusted accordingly.
The most accurate and up-to-date information can be found on the CBE Labour Action Page.
Access to BB4CK Lunches During a Strike/Lockout
Marshall Springs is proud to have the Brown Bagging for Calgary's Kids (BB4CK) school lunch program in our building. We wanted to make you aware that in the case of a school strike or lockout, BB4CK will be continuing to provide lunches to kids who need them via a lunch-pickup model at designated sites in Calgary.
As this is an evolving situation, BB4CK will be keeping the webpage below updated with further details and with the locations at which your family will be able to access BB4CK lunches.

UPDATE | Terry Fox Run
A huge thank you to our Marshall Springs community for the incredible outpouring of support for Terry Fox. We are grateful to our staff who shared stories and led activities, and to our students who participated with such heart. Together, Marshall Springs will be donating $1808.30 to continue Terry’s legacy.
On behalf of staff, please accept my apologies for being at this place in time. We believe in a strong public education system for all and will continue to stand up and demand better for our students. We'll see you when we see you.
Best Wishes,
Kevin Godfrey
