Resumption of Learning

All families received an email from the CBE last week stating that our top priority is a return to teaching and learning. Many activities and events were either postponed or cancelled during the strike. As we receive further information from the CBE, we will communicate with families regarding past and future events.

In regards to fees:

  • Central Fees (assigned by the CBE) will be adjusted in the near future.
  • School Based Fees (courses, field trips, athletics etc.) will be prorated and/or fully refunded if the service was not provided.

In regards to student progress conferences:

  • Our first round was supposed to occur on October 20 and 24.
  • This round will be rescheduled before the winter break - dates and times to be updated shortly.

Athletics Update

The only information we currently have for soccer, wrestling, and basketball is as follows:

  • Practices can begin November 3. No competition of any kind can occur.

Coaches will be communicating with players about practices for next week. We should be receiving a detailed athletics plan from the CBE shortly. When we do, this information will be communicated with students and families.

Picture Day - November 5

All MSS students and staff will have their school photo(s) taken on Wednesday, November 5. Retakes for students who are absent on this day will be December 5, 2025.

Honouring Remembrance Day at MSS

As we approach Remembrance Day, we at Marshall Springs School remain committed to honouring the sacrifices of those who have served and continue to serve our country. This day holds deep significance, and we believe it is important to provide our students with an opportunity to reflect and show respect.

Due to the recent instructional time lost as a result of labour action, we will be scaling back our usual proceedings this year. However, we will still mark this important occasion with sincerity and care.

On Thursday, November 6, students will view a commemorative video during homeroom. This video will feature student performances and reflections, allowing our school community to come together in remembrance in a meaningful way.

We also invite any students who participate in cadets, scouts, or similar organizations to wear their uniforms to school on this day, should they wish to do so. Thank you for your continued support as we strive to foster respect, understanding, and gratitude in our students.

Yearbook Cover Contest - DUE Date Extended

Still interested in submitting your art for the Yearbook? The NEW submission deadline is Friday, November 14.  Please submit entries (flat, 8.5" x 11", full colour, must have Marshall Springs and 2025-2026, with your name/grade somewhere on it) to Mrs. Hartling in the Foods room or to her mailbox in the office.

Healthy Hunger Update

We’re happy to share that Healthy Hunger resumed today with a fun snack from Cobs! If you’d like to place an order for upcoming fun lunches or snacks, you can visit the Healthy Hunger website and order ahead into January.

For any fun lunches that were missed during the recent strike, those dates have been rescheduled for January, and existing orders have been automatically transferred to the new dates. You can still place new orders for those days as well.

Thanks for your continued support!
