MSS Student Behaviour Expectations - Review
We have recently seen an unfortunate increase of inappropriate student behaviour during instructional time and in the hallways. This past Friday, teachers reviewed the following with students in homeroom Marshall Time:
- Be positive when interacting with students and staff.
- Do not disrupt teaching and learning:
- Rolling/lying on the ground and/or tables, yelling out loud, throwing things across a room, inappropriate conversations etc. should not be taking place at school.
- Keep your hands and feet to yourself at all times.
- Don't touch/take things that do no belong to you.
- Put your garbage away properly - don't throw it on the floor for someone else to clean up.
- Students are not to enter classes that they do not belong to.
- This has happened numerous times over the past week and has caused serious disruptions to teaching and learning.
- "I was just joking" and/or "I thought it would be funny" and/or "It's ok because they are my friend" are not acceptable excuses for inappropriate student behaviour.

Please have a conversation with your child(ren) to reinforce the points above so we can focus on learning and provide disruption free learning opportunities for all students and staff.

MSS Pep Rally - Thursday, November 28
On Thursday, November 28th, we will be hosting a Fall Pep Rally to celebrate our fall athletic seasons and our supportive cheer team. The event will include a friendly basketball game between students and teachers, a cheerleading performance, the homeroom cheer poster competition, and much more fun. It’s a great opportunity to come together and show our school spirit while honouring our fall athletes and cheerleaders!
In support of our greater community, we will be collecting donations for Inn From the Cold's Adopt a Family Holiday Campaign. Monetary donations will be accepted from Monday, November 18, through Thursday, November 21 during lunch outside the main office. We will make our MSS donation on December 3rd - Giving Tuesday, when every donation made to Inn from the Cold will be matched, doubling the impact on families in need. As a thank you for your generosity, all donors will have their names entered into a draw for VIP seating and food at the Fall Pep Rally. Let’s come together to make a difference this holiday season!
