Staffing Update
As Ms. Williams leave continues, MSS welcomes Mr. Mitch Marjoram to the school starting Monday, May 5. Mr. Marjoram will carry on the social studies work of Ms. Williams and Mr. Chisholm.

Get ready for a night to remember at the Spring Let’s Glow Dance! This event will feature tons of fun, including a random VIP package giveaway, a jelly bean guessing contest (winner takes the whole jar!), and a cash concession stand with snacks and treats. Try your luck at carnival games and keep the energy high for our fun awards, like Glow Up & Show Up for best dressed to the theme, The Human Highlighter for the brightest glow wear, Glowstep Guru for the best dance moves, Glow Getter for those who keep the vibe going as top motivators and Shine On Spirit for the Glowiest Attitude. You won’t want to miss it, let’s glow!
Tickets for the Let’s Glow Spring Dance are available for pre-purchase only; no tickets will be sold after May 13th. Tickets will not be available for purchase at the door on the 14th. This event is for current Marshall Springs Students only.
You can purchase tickets:
- Online through Healthy Hunger for $4.25 from May 2nd to May 13th, 2025.
- In person for $4.00 (cash only) at lunch outside the Marshall Springs Main Office on Thursday, May 8; Monday, May 12; and Tuesday, May 13.
We are also looking for parent volunteers to help make the Let’s Glow Dance a success! If you’re interested in volunteering or have any questions, please contact Ms. O’Lain at emolain@cbe.ab.ca. We’d love to have your support!
MSS Open House / Spring Concert
Our last open house and Spring Concert will take place on Thursday, May 29. Itinerary for the evening is as follows:
- 500-530pm: Presentation by School Admin in the Main Gym.
- Entrance through East Athletic Doors.
- School is not open for tours.
- 530-630pm: School is open for tours.
- 630-730pm: Spring Concert in the Main Gym.
Transportation Service and Bell Time Changes for 2025-2026 School Year
For the 2025-2026 school year, the CBE will be expanding yellow bus service and adjusting walk zones. This is in response to Alberta Education’s School Transportation Amendment Regulation that comes into effect on Sept. 1, 2025. This means many more students will become eligible to take the bus.
Information roll out to families from the CBE will begin on May 7. Information regarding transportation registration and proposed fees with eligible families from the CBE will be sent on May 8.
The Bell Times for the 2025-2026 school year at MSS are as follows:
- Monday-Thursday: 9:15am - 3:55pm.
- Doors to the school will open at 9:05am.
- Friday: 9:15am-12:45pm.
- Doors to the school will open at 9:05am.

School Council / Enrichment Society / Coffee & Conversation
Thank you to the three parents that attended our virtual council meeting on Monday, April 28. We discussed upcoming events to close out this school year and planning for the 25-26 school year at MSS.
The next opportunity for school/community discussion will be on Friday, May 30 for coffee and conversation with school administration. We meet from 10:00-11:00am in the MSS staff room to discuss all things Marshall Springs. All MSS community members are welcome to attend. Coffee and a light snack will be provided.
Gr. 9 Farewell
Gr. 9 Farewell will once again be held at Heritage Park on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 6:00-10:00pm. There will also be an opportunity for pictures with families, students, and staff at MSS on June 4 from 4:00-5:30pm before students head to Heritage Park to celebrate their time at Marshall Springs.
Parents/guardians - please ensure that your child has completed the following survey. We need to submit this information to Heritage Park soon - the deadline for completion is May 9.

A parent/guardian letter with a detailed itinerary for June 4 and consent forms was sent home with students on Friday, May 2. Fees for this event will be uploaded to your MyCBE account shortly.
Athletics Update
Badminton season is underway with practices continuing next week. Practice dates and times can be located HERE.
