Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs): Grade 6 & 9
In May and June of this year, Grade 6 and 9 students across the province will participate in the Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) using the Digital Assessment Platform (Vretta). Grade 6 and 9 students will complete PATs in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Our first PATs are coming up quickly:
- Grade 6
- ELA "A" (Written): Monday, May 25.
- Grade 9
- ELA "A" (Written): Thursday, May 21.
Students who are absent on PAT days will complete the assessment when they return to school.
Results from these tests will provide Alberta Education, school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, students and the public with information about what students know and can do in relation to provincial standards at the end of Grade 6 and 9. Provincial Achievement Tests are based on what students have been learning throughout the school year.
Athletics Update - Track & Field
Our Track and Field Meet is quickly approaching on June 8th! We are so excited by the number of athletes interested in representing the Marshall Springs River Wolves, and we know they will make us proud!
To help make this event a success, we are currently looking for multiple parent volunteers. If you are available and willing to help out, please contact Lana Gibbs (lagibbs@cbe.ab.ca) as soon as possible.
Your support would include:
- Cheering on our athletes.
- Supervising student/athletes.
- Encouraging athletes to get to their events on time and checking times regularly.
- Helping ensure athletes are eating and staying hydrated throughout the day.
- Bathroom Supervision.
Thank you for supporting our athletes and school community!
