Another week of cooler mornings turning into plus temperature afternoons as we head into Spring Break. This is a four (4) day week of learning as Friday, March 21 is a Non-Instructional Day. The next weekly update will be sent on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

Staffing Update
We would like to welcome Mr. Michael Chisholm to MSS! He will be covering Ms. Williams classes while she is on leave. Mr. Chisholm has subbed at MSS throughout the year and is well known to students and staff.
Athletics Update
Volleyball season is now finished. Congratulations to all our teams and coaches for a great season! A big shout out to the Jr. Boys and coaches Ms. Kozak and Ms. Mork for winning the division championship.
The final two events of the athletic season are badminton and track & field. As of now, these two seasons have been postponed due to CUPE labour action. If labour actions ends, a plan regarding the continuation of athletics will be communicated.
Spring Break / Locker Clean-out
Locker Clean-out for all students on Wednesday, March 19 before the end of the school day. Students are encouraged to bring a bag(s) to take their stuff home. The only things that can stay in lockers over break are school supplies. Everything else must either be taken home, recycled, or thrown in the garbage.
Spring Break is March 22-30. Regular classes for all MSS students resume on Monday, March 31.
School Engagement Parent/Guardian Survey: School Planning 2025-2026
Our annual parent/guardian engagement survey is currently open and will close on Monday, March 31, 2025. This survey gives parents/guardians an opportunity to provide feedback as we begin to plan for the 2025-2026 school year. Topics covered in the survey are the school development plan, budget, and fees. The survey will take ~10 minutes to complete.

School Council / Enrichment Society Meeting
Thank you to the three (3) parents who attended our meeting on March 10. Our next council meeting will be Monday, April 28, 2025 @ 6:00pm via Microsoft Teams. At this meeting, we will be discussing budget, staffing, and class composition for the 2025-2026 school year.
Labour Action Update - CUPE Strike
For the latest and most accurate information on labour action in the CBE, please CLICK HERE. A few reminders to changes that have occurred at MSS due to labour action:
- Regular classes continue for all students.
- All students need to exit the building no later than 3:45pm.
- Exceptions are volleyball practices and drama rehearsals. These will end by 4:30pm.
- Volleyball games at Marshall Springs:
- Only parents/guardians/family members of participants are able to view games.
- Non-Athlete student spectators are not permitted during labour action.
A large thank you to staff and students for their care of our building over the past week. We all play a role in keeping our amazing facility clean and safe.
