A full five (5) day week of school ahead. Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) for our Gr. 6 and 9 students resume again on June 13th. Teachers and staff continue to prepare all of our students for the last three weeks of the school year.
A huge shout out to our Gr. 9s who celebrated Farewell at Heritage Park last week. These students have spent up to six (6) years at MSS - you should be very proud of your growth and accomplishments in middle school as you transition to high school. We are honored to have been given the privilege to support you!

Grade 9 Farewell
Thank you to all parents/guardians and family members who attended the Farewell "Mingler" at MSS before students made their way to Heritage Park last Wednesday. It was great to see people coming together to celebrate the accomplishments of these grade 9s.
Heritage Park reached out to us on Thursday commending our group as the best event they have held for school's so far this year. Thank you to all students and staff for representing MSS!
A subtle reminder that the fee for this event is available to be paid in your MyCBE account if not done so.
Provincial Achievement Tests - Grade 6 & 9 Students
Gr. 6 and 9 students will resume completing Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) later this month. The PAT schedule for Gr. 6 and 9 students is as follows:
- June 13: Gr. 6 & 9 Math "A"
- June 16: Gr. 6 & 9 ELA "B"
- June 17: Gr. 6 & 9 Math "B"
- June 18: Gr. 6 & 9 Social Studies
- June 19: Gr. 9 Science
- Gr. 6 students do not complete Science this year.
All PAT exams will start at 9:00am. Students will enter the school at the regular time and proceed to their homeroom classes to get ready. All exams are completed on Chromebooks using a digital platform called Vretta. If a student is absent for an exam, they are expected to complete it the following day.
Parent/Guardian Volunteer Opportunity
We are currently looking for parent volunteers to support on Grade 6 & 9 PAT days. Students need to be directly supervised when they leave the classroom to get a drink and escorted to the washroom and back. PAT exams begin at 9am. If you have a valid CBE volunteer security clearance and are interested, please email marshallsprings@cbe.ab.ca or call the main office at 403-817-3528. Dates of exams are listed above.

Athletics Update
Track & Field concluded last week with the divisional meet at Foothills on Tuesday, June 3. Congratulations to all student-athletes and a big thank you to coaches for all your support through all sorts of weather over the last month.
