Cancelled | Wilderness Field Trips
Kananaskis | Troll Falls Hike. As you know Alberta has received substantial rainfall this past week. The rain has significantly affected roads and trails in the Kananaskis area. There is localized flooding affecting trails up to the viewpoint. Alberta Parks has advised that trails around the main waterfall, including up to the Troll, have been blocked off due to extreme rockfall hazards.
The forecast for next week in Kananaskis Country is calling for more rain. Due to these advisories, we have made the decision to cancel the Hiking field trip on Wednesday June 10th and Thursday June 11th. Unfortunately, due to bus bookings, there will NOT be an alternative date.
MSEC / MSS Casino Fundraiser - November 2026
Mark your calendars - our next casino fundraiser nights are November 1-2, 2026. MSS is fortunate to have MSEC (enrichment council) and a casino fundraiser ~every 18 months. In the past, casino fundraiser events have generated 70-80k for school use that has included technology for the school and various programs, lighting for the drama program, funding for field trips, equipment for Phys Ed. etc. This additional source of funds, outside our budget, is essential to continue providing the opportunities we do for students.
Please consider volunteering to support this event.
