Hard to believe, but we are entering the 2nd half of the 24-25 school year. Semester #2 for all MSS students starts on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. All MSS students will begin NEW option courses next week. This is a four (4) day week of learning as Friday, January 31 is a non-instructional day for students.

    • Wrestling Divisional Meet - Genesis Centre.
  • Thursday, January 30:
    • Springs Time Cycle (6-2).
  • Friday, January 31:
    • Non-Instructional Day: NO classes for MSS students.

Athletics Update

***MSS Athletics Spectator Policy***

Volleyball games at MSS and other schools begin this week. All players, students, parents/guardians, are expected to follow our spectator policy. Failure to meet expectations will result in games being stopped and students, parents/guardians being removed from the school and loss of future viewing privileges.

Semester 1 Report Cards

S1 report cards will be available online through your MyCBE account starting January 27. Paper copies of report cards are no longer printed and distributed to students.

Gr. 7 Late French Immersion program at Ecole Woodman School

Ecole Woodman School will be presenting to current Gr. 6 students regarding the Late French Immersion Program in late January (dates TBD). Please see the attached flyer for the late immersion open house on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Ecole Woodman.

Gr. 10 High School Registration

Gr. 9 tours and Gr. 10 open houses for Centennial and Dr. EP Scarlett were completed last week. Information regarding Gr. 10 course registration is as follows:

  • Centennial (CHS):
    • Paper packages were sent home with students designated to CHS this past week. Course selection forms are to be completed with a parent/guardian, signed, and returned to your homeroom teacher.
  • Dr. EP Scarlett (DEPS):
    • Student Services at Dr. E.P Scarlett is pleased to begin the Course Selection Process for the 2025-26 School year. Welcome, incoming Lancers! Please see the following information in preparation for this exciting transition period.
    • Student Services has been working with many of our feeder schools to support students with in-person visits. We visited many schools in November to focus on our school culture and extra-curricular opportunities and returned in January to discuss the course selection process. A video of the January presentation can be found here.
    • The course selection process occurs online. Course selection is not first come first served, so please be assured that you have time to make thoughtful selections for options and core classes. The form – 2025-26 Grade 10 Course Selection – English Regular – will be open from January 23 – February 23.

CEBL/CBE Calgary Surge Basketball Game

Marshall Springs will be attending the Calgary Surge (professional basketball) CBE Be Well School Game Day on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.  We will be departing the school at 9:30am and returning at 2:30pm.  We have received a total of 40 student tickets for this game.  Cost will be approximately $40...this covers transportation and a ticket to the basketball game.  If we receive more than 40 student applications, a random draw will take place.  Students from grades 6, 7, 8 and 9 can apply to go to the basketball game.
