Two more weeks to go. This is a full five (5) day week of learning for MSS students. We just had a tremendous week of weather which looks to continue. As always, please ensure that your child is dressed for the weather. Milder winter temperatures means we can utilize our great outdoor spaces for learning. Two big events this week...the Art Show / Winter concert is Thursday and Coffee & Conversation with school administration is Friday. Check out the weekly update below.

Coffee & Conversation with School Administration
Mr. Bhardwaj, Mr. Godfrey, and Ms. Gjosund will be hosting coffee and conversation Friday, December 13 @ 10:00am for any and all interest parents/guardians of Marshall Springs students. We will be talking about progress at MSS, upcoming events, and answering any school related questions that arise.
Athletics Update
The second quad meet of the wrestling season is this week. Wrestling forms have been distributed to students. In order to participate, forms need to be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to Ms. Boulton or Mr. Sheedy.
The next athletic season on the calendar is Volleyball. Try-outs will begin once students return to school from Winter Break.

MSS Winter Concert / Art Show
Ms. Biggar and Ms. Walker will be presenting our annual winter concert and art show on Thursday, December 12.
- Art Show (Main Foyer): 5:00-5:50pm.

Performing Arts Winter Production
Ms. Tennisco and her Performing Arts students will be presenting "Emotional Baggage" on December 17-18, 2024 at MSS. Showtimes are as follows:
- December 17/18 - Student Matinees.
- December 18: Evening Show for students, staff, parents, families.
- 7:00pm @ MSS.
Everyone has their own emotional baggage. What is yours? Characters walk into a train station with their emotional baggage and can’t leave it behind. Emotional baggage holds them back, as they explore whether they will ever be able to let it go. What happens when they meet someone who can leave it behind? Will they learn to let go or carry their emotional baggage with them forever? This play addresses how we handle our emotional baggage and work towards leaving it behind.

Grade 9 Outdoor Education Opportunity - Nakiska Ski Resort (February 2025)
We have an opportunity to hit the slopes at Nakiska Ski Resort. This ski/snowboard day-trip has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Students must arrive at school at 8:20 am. We will depart Marshall Springs by 8:45 am on Tuesday. Our lessons will end at 3:45 pm and we will return to the school by approximately 5:00 pm (please make alternate plans if you take the bus).
We can only accommodate 40 students for this optional experience. If your child is interested in participating in this field trip, your child will need to see Mr. Mak for a permission form. As forms are returned to Mr. Mak, they will be numbered accordingly. Any forms received after 40 will be waitlisted. Forms are DUE by FRIDAY December 13. In your MyCBE account under Fees, you will have until Friday, December 20 to pay in FULL to secure your child's spot. If your fee is not paid, you will relinquish your spot.
Cost will be $105.00 and that covers equipment rentals, lessons from instructors, transportation costs and substitute teacher costs. Please see Mr. Mak if you have questions!
