School doors open at 905am daily. If the weather is colder than -20C (including wind chill), school doors will open between 830-845am with students waiting in the main foyer before classes begin.
Student Progress Conferences (SPCs)
Thank you to all MSS families who were able to engage in learning conversations on Friday. The next day for SPCs is Friday, December 12 from 130-400pm. These conversations will be held virtually through Microsoft Teams. The online booking system will close Thursday, December 11 @ 400pm.
In order to book a conference, you need a MyCBE account. If you do not have one, please CLICK HERE to sign up.
School conferences provide an important opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about your child’s learning. Parents/guardians, students, and teachers are able to connect and communicate openly about areas of strength and growth. These discussions help build and sustain respectful relationships that support student success. Prior to your conference, please take time with your child to review PowerSchool for updated grades and Google Classroom for course content and topics, ensuring a focused and informed discussion. If possible, please include your child in the conference as their voice is vital to understanding the next steps in their learning.
Given the recent teacher strike and its impact on assessment timelines, teachers are continuing to update and analyze student data. While they will share available evidence of learning, we ask that families keep in mind that assessment information may still be in progress at this time. The focus of conferences will be on reconnecting, understanding current progress, and planning meaningful next steps to support each student’s continued growth.
We look forward to seeing you and your child at conferences and continuing our shared work in supporting their success.

Owl's Nest Book Fair: December 8-12, 2025
During the week of December 8-12 in the learning commons, we will be hosting the Owls Nest Book Fair. Students will have the opportunity to attend the book fair during school time. The book fair will also be open from 500-600pm on December 11 during the Art Show.
Human Sexuality Consent Forms
A gentle reminder that parental consent forms must be signed and returned for students to be able to participate in the human sexuality module of health and physical education. Forms for all grades were sent home before the strike, and again once in-person learning resumed. Please returned the signed consent form to your Homeroom teacher ASAP. These modules will begin January 2026.
MSS Coffee and Conversation
Our first coffee and conversation will be held Friday, December 12 @ 10:00am in the Marshall Springs staff room. Coffee and snacks will be provided. Coffee and conversation with school administration is an opportunity for MSS school community members to engage in casual conversations regarding life at MSS. All MSS community members are welcome. Trustee Nancy Close and our area director Kenny Yeung will be attending this conversation.
The next school council and MSEC meetings will take place on January 26, 2026 @ 5:00pm at Marshall Springs. If you are unable to attend in person, there will also be a live stream available through Microsoft Teams.
