Good morning parents/guardians,
A full five (5) day week as we wrap up April and head into May. The weather next week looks great with Spring upon us, but can change very quickly day-to-day. As the weather improves, our staff will continue to use our beautiful outdoor spaces for teaching and learning experiences.
All MSS students participated in Student Vote 2025 this past Friday in advance of the federal election on Monday, April 28. Once the winner of the federal election is announced, we will post our MSS student vote results.

Federal Election - Monday, April 28
Marshall Springs is a community polling station for the upcoming federal election on Monday, April 28. The main gym and will be used by Elections Canada on this day. No students or classes will be in this section of the building. Phys. Ed classes will be outdoors (weather dependent) or in other learning spaces.
We are working with Elections Canada and CBE facilities to ensure minimal impact to the regular school day.
There will be a significant increase in vehicles, traffic, and people at the school and in the community on this day. Please drive with caution and do not park in school bus zones to ensure the safety of students, staff, and community members.
School Council / Enrichment Society Meeting - April 28
Our next school council / enrichment society meeting will be held on April 28 at 6:00pm virtually through Microsoft Teams. Discussion items will include upcoming events, and planning for the 2025 - 2026. All members of the MSS community are encouraged to attend.

Gr. 9 Farewell - Heritage Park
Gr. 9 Farewell will once again be held at Heritage Park on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 6:00-10:00pm. There will also be an opportunity for pictures with families, students, and staff at MSS on June 4 from 4:00-5:30pm before students head to Heritage Park to celebrate their time at Marshall Springs.
Parents/guardians - please ensure that your child has completed the following survey. We need to submit this information to Heritage Park soon, so the deadline for completion is May 9.

A parent/guardian letter with a detailed itinerary for June 4 and consent forms will be sent home with students on Friday, May 2. Fees for this event will be uploaded to your MyCBE account shortly.
Transportation Service and Bell Time Changes for 2025-2026 School Year
For the 2025-2026 school year, the CBE will be expanding yellow bus service and adjusting walk zones. This is in response to Alberta Education’s School Transportation Amendment Regulation that comes into effect on Sept. 1, 2025. This means many more students will become eligible to take the bus.
The Bell Times for the 2025-2026 school year at MSS are as follows:
- Monday-Thursday: 9:15am - 3:55pm.
- Doors to the school will open at 9:05am.
- Friday: 9:15am-12:45pm.
- Doors to the school will open at 9:05am.

Badminton season is underway with practices continuing next week with . Practice dates and times can be located HERE.
