As we March into Spring…the weather is as unpredictable as ever. It looks to be cold and snowy to start next week, but sun shine and positive temperatures to end. As always, please ensure your child(ren) are dressed for the weather.
A big thank you to our leadership students and Ms. O’Lain for their work in promoting Pink Shirt Day at Marshall Springs. Also, to Ms. Houston for her work on the Telus Be Brave Hitmen Hockey game on February 28. Eighty (80) MSS students had the opportunity to watch the Calgary Hitmen vs. the Edmonton Oil Kings at the annual anti-bullying hockey game. It was a tremendous event enjoyed by all.

Gr. 9 Field Trip – Theatre Calgary
On Thursday, March 7, all Gr. 9 students will be attending Theatre Calgary to observe the “As You Like It” Play. Forms were sent home last week and the associated fee was posted in PowerSchool. Forms must be signed and returned to MSS in order for students to attend.

The annual planning survey is currently open and will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Student Progress Conferences (SPCs): March 21 - 22, 2024
Our next round of SPCs will be held on March 21-22:
- Thursday, March 21:
- Full day of school for students – regular Thursday schedule.
- Last day of classes before Spring Break.
- SPCs: 4:00-8:00pm
- In-Person: Main Gym.
- Friday, March 22:
- Non-Instructional Day: NO School for Students.
- SPCs: 8:30am-3:00pm
- Virtual conferences through Microsoft Teams.
- There are no in-person conferences on this day.
As with the first round of SPCs this year, we will be using an online booking system. The online system will be open for booking on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 @ 8:00am. In order to book student progress conferences, you will need a MyCBE account.

Athletics Update
There are a couple weeks left in the volleyball season. The regular season wraps up this week and then playoffs the following week.
The badminton season begins April 2 while the Track & Field season begins May 13.
