Isn’t Alberta weather wonderful?  Temperatures next week look good so hopefully the sunshine gets rid of the snow.  There are a significant number of updates this week, please click the link below to access the weekly message.

  • Junior (Gr. 6/7) Badminton practice at 3:15pm.
• Tuesday, April 9:
  • Mr. Bhardwaj student leadership group activity.
  • Intermediate (Gr. 8) Badminton practice at 3:15pm.
• Wednesday, April 10:
  • Senior (Gr. 9) Badminton practice at 3:15pm.
• Tuesday, April 16:
  • Spring Photos for all students.
• Friday, April 19:
  • Non-Instructional Day: NO school for students.

Solar Eclipse – Monday, April 8

Earlier in the week, you received an email from the CBE regarding the solar eclipse that is occurring on Monday, April 8.  This will be a great learning opportunity, but we also must be cautious as there are health implications for not being safe during the eclipse.  From approx. 11:30am – 2:00pm, MSS will be doing the following:

• Indoor lunch (same as days that are colder than -20C).
  • Students will be highly encouraged to stay inside.
    • If students make the choice to go outside, they will be reminded not to look directly at the eclipse.
  • There will be no outdoor teacher supervision.
    • Teachers on outdoor supervision will supervise inside on the main floor.
  • There will be no outdoor learning opportunities (for any classes regardless of the weather) for periods 4-5.
    • Exceptions: teachers who have pre-planned learning activities and have proper (approved) eye protection for students.
• All blinds/window coverings in the building that can be lowered will be.

2023 – 2024 Yearbook

Yearbooks are now available for purchase.  MSS yearbooks are purchased online through Lifetouch.

• Orders must be placed by May, 24, 2024
• Yearbooks will be delivered to the school during the last week in June.

Spring Dance – Leadership 

We are excited to extend an invitation to you and your student(s) to join us at the Marshall Springs School Spring Dance, where we'll be rolling out the red carpet Hollywood-style! Get ready for an evening of glitz, glamour, and memories.

Event Details:

• Date: April 18th
• Theme: Hollywood Red Carpet.
• Dress Code: Semi-formal encouraged, but any school-appropriate dress is welcome.
• Location: Marshall Springs Main Gym (East School Entrance).
• Time: 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm.
• Cost: $4.00 per ticket.
• Ticket Sales: Monday, April 8th, through Thursday, April 11th, at lunch outside the main office.
• Attendees: Must be current students of Marshal Springs School.

Event Highlights:

• Enjoy the beats of a Professional DJ.
• Concession stand offering snacks and drinks.
• A photo booth to capture the memories.
• An opportunity for students to dress up and feel glamorous.
• A fantastic way to get moving.

Athletics Update

Badminton season is underway.  Team practices are as follows:

• Junior (Gr. 6/7): Monday at 3:15pm.
  • Coaches Sattin and Ratnayake.
• Intermediate (Gr. 8): Tuesday at 3:15pm.
  • Coach Hartling.
• Senior (Gr. 9): Wednesday at 3:15pm.
  • Coach Fontaine.
