Thank you to all students, staff, and families who participated in our Spring Dance last Thursday.  It was the first after school dance at MSS…and a huge success!  It was great to see many students dressed-up as this was a Semi-Formal “Hollywood” themed event.  Special thanks to Mrs. O’Lain and her leadership students for running a tremendous event.

A full five (5) day week of learning ahead.  Temperatures are increasing this week, but there also could be a combination of sun/rain/snow.  Students need to be prepared for the weather as we will continue to use our amazing outdoor spaces.

The PAT schedule for Gr. 6 & 9 students is below. As per previous emails you received from the school and the CBE, Gr. 6 ELA and Math PATs for the 23-24 school year have been cancelled.

MSS Open House & Spring Concert

Our open house and Spring Concert will take place on Wednesday, May 8.  The school will open from 4:30-6:00pm for families to check out all of the amazing spaces and opportunities MSS has to offer.  Teachers will be available to ask any questions that you may have.

All families are also invited to stay to enjoy our Spring Concert presented by Ms. Biggar and her band students.  The concert will begin at 6:00pm and will be approximately an hour in length.

Performing Arts Production – “MMMBeth”

MSS families and community members are invited to MSS on May 16th at 7:00pm for “MMMbeth” presented by Ms. Tennisco and her performing arts students.  The production will be the culmination of months of hard work and dedication from many students and staff members.

Gr. 9 Farewell – Heritage Park

We are excited to announce that details have now been finalized for the Grade 9 Farewell celebration at Heritage Park. This event will take place on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 6:00pm-11:00pm. The cost for Heritage Park will be $60. This includes admission, rides on the mid-way, a buffet dinner, and a DJ dance. Transportation to and from the venue will NOT be provided. Field trip forms, as well as additional information, will be sent home in the upcoming weeks.  The fee for Gr. 9 farewell can be paid through your MyCBE account.

This event is for current MSS Gr. 9 students and staff only.  However, a Farewell Ceremony, in which parents are invited to attend, will be held on June 26, 2024. Details for this event will be communicated at a later date.

2023 – 2024 Yearbook

Yearbooks are now available for purchase.  MSS yearbooks are purchased online through Lifetouch.

• Orders must be placed by May, 24, 2024

Term 4 Options

Gr. 7,8,9 students will begin term #4 options on Monday, April 22.  Requests for changes are not being accepted as this process was complete a couple weeks ago.

Gr. 6 students will begin their final option rotation on May, 13, 2024.
